Look at what happened.
You chose an action and made time for it for a few days. Then a deadline, a schedule change or tiredness interrupted your rhythm. Before starting again, describe the situation in one specific sentence: “After dinner I was too tired to read.” That gives you something practical to work with.
Change one thing.
If the timing did not work, try another moment. If the action was too ambitious, make it smaller. To return to reading, you might put your book beside your breakfast cup and read one page after coffee. Change one thing at a time so you can see whether it helps.
Prepare a smaller version.
Write down two options: the action you would like to take, and the version that fits a busy day. Two pages when you have time; one paragraph when time is short. The smaller version should still connect to your promise without becoming another difficult obligation.
Choose your next opportunity.
Choose your next realistic opportunity and begin there. Afterwards, note what made the action possible. After a few attempts, reflect on whether the new approach works or needs another adjustment.
